The Friday Five: Elevator Joy Bomb

Ice Cream Print

Yippee ki yi yay,  it’s fabulous Friday! Today’s gifs are also a movie recommendation (my sneaky way of adding a 6th piece of inspiration to The Friday Five).  So, on our last date night, Mark took me to see Joss Whedon’s adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing.  Now, don’t let the original text of ole Willy Shakespeare intimidate you or the fact that it was filmed in black-and-white.  It is hilarious to a side-splitting degree, and {read more…}

Cord on Strike…So Let’s Watch a Video!

What it looks like when my camera cord goes on strike and decides to thwart all plans of posting fun photo tutorials.

True story.  The cord that connects our camera to the computer has decided to go on strike and stop working.  This indeed thwarts all plans of posting my awesome furniture makeover or any future posts involving photos for that matter.  Sigh.  That is until UPS delivers a new cord in the next 1-3 days or I break down and use my cell phone camera. Do you have any objects in your household that have decided {read more…}

A Special Baby

This is Lauren, signing off.

Merry Christmas Eve, friends! Just had to share this beautiful video in which the children of St. Paul’s Church in New Zealand tell and act out the Christmas story.  There are so many magical moments in it – – I watched it three times in a row.  I just couldn’t get enough of those precious accents.  Look out for my favorite character: the third wise man.  Thanks to my M.I.L. Rachael for sharing this with {read more…}

Les Misérables: Start Getting Excited

I’m sometimes skeptical when a new movie comes out, and it’s the millionth version of a story we’ve seen time and time again.  You know what I’m talking about right?  Spiderman.  Again. Robin Hood.  Again.  A Christmas Carol.  Again.  Again.  And again. Such was my prejudice when I first heard they were doing another film adaptation of Victor Hugo’s novel, Les Misérables.  I thought, “Didn’t they just release the remake with Liam Neeson?”  Then, Mark looked it up {read more…}
