The Friday Five: Elevator Joy Bomb

Yippee ki yi yay,  it’s fabulous Friday!

Today’s gifs are also a movie recommendation (my sneaky way of adding a 6th piece of inspiration to The Friday Five).  So, on our last date night, Mark took me to see Joss Whedon’s adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing.  Now, don’t let the original text of ole Willy Shakespeare intimidate you or the fact that it was filmed in black-and-white.  It is hilarious to a side-splitting degree, and the magical moments are a’ plenty.  And you know it’s good Shakespeare when you know exactly what the actors are saying, even if you don’t understand every word.  The story transcends all time and language, and that’s a testament to the actors and director (and the mighty Bard).

Oh, and get this: the film was shot in 12 days at Joss Whedon’s home in Santa Monica!  So, yeah, it was pretty much an epic weekend retreat for the actors involved (most of them you’ll recognize from Whedon films).  Two resounding thumbs up from me!  Visit your local art houses and add it to your Netflix queue for when it’s released, my friends.  {Here’s the trailer.}

And now, it’s time for another installment of…
