Epic Silhouette Holiday Sale & Parody Music Video!
Today is the very first day in the EPIC Holiday Sales over at *SilhouetteAmerica.com, and not only am I going to give you a full run-down of all the extra special deals, but I am going to offer you some in-flight entertainment as well. (Would you expect any less?)
My Silhouette Cameo is my absolute favorite crafting tool of all time. I’ve created over 60 projects with my machine in just about 2 years, and the inspiration never ends.
I get all amped up about Silhouette’s annual holiday sale because the discounts are so steep, it means more and more of my crafting buddies (like you!) can join me in my Silhouette-ing. And you actually can join the Silhouette Facebook group I coordinate of over 1,000 craft-lovers; they will blow your mind with their kindness and creativity. (Join us HERE.)
So, to kick off the big sale today and celebrate Thanksgiving, I thought I’d make you another music video. Another parody music video all about my love of my Silhouette Cameo.
You see, I’m not above making a complete and utter fool of myself for the sake of bringing you a smile. Heck, I rather enjoy it!
So, I bring to you my parody of the holiday classic “Walking in a Winter Wonderland,” entitled, “Cutting in a Crafting Wonderland.”
I hope these 2-and-a-half minutes bring you a chuckle on this Thanksgiving weekend. (Lyrics are listed below the video if you want to sing along.)
Parody Music Video
Cutting in a Crafting Wonderland by Lauren Lanker
Plug her in,
Turn her on,
Load the mat,
Hear a song.
Me and my Silhouette machine,
We make a great team,
Cutting in a crafting wonderland.Gone away, is the x-acto.
Here to stay, is my Cameo.
Her professional style
It gives me a smile,
Cutting in a crafting wonderland.Out at Home Goods we can look at pillows
And glean inspiration for our home.
You’ll say, “Should we buy it?”
I’ll say, “Oh no.”
‘Cause you can do the job
When you’re at home.Baby gifts?
Make some onesies!
Don’t stop there,
Cards are fun-sie!
To make with your art
Gifts straight from the heart–
Cutting in a crafting wonderland. In the evening we can throw a party,
And set up a photo booth with props (props!).
We’ll have lots of fun with shades and mustache
Knowing that we made them on our own.Vinyl labels,
Sketch pen place cards,
Fabric flowers,
Glass-etched dishes—
Projects for days,
The Silhouette way,
Cutting in a crafting wonderland.Look at that:
Time to change keys
‘Cause we need
An epic ending.
Me & my Silhouette machine,
We make a great team,
Cutting in a crafting wonderland.
Cutting in a crafting wonderland.
Cutting in a crafting wonderland (yeah!).
I know. I’m a wackadoodle. But chances are, if you’re still reading, you’ve probably got some “wackadoodle” in you, too. And life’s too short not to have a little “wackadoodle” fun, am I right?
Last Year’s Music Video

{Sometimes I link up at these happenin’ parties.}
*Full Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you make a purchase using my code, CLOSET, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Please rest assured that as always, I only recommend products that I use and love…and I abso-fruitly love my Cameo. I mean, I made that silly video, right? No one in their right mind would make a video like that if it wasn’t grounded in a genuine, deep love for all things Silhouette. Right? Right. Thanks for helping to support this site!
I just big puffy heart love you so much.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!! xo
You are do cute! This was a treat!!
You are amazing, Lauren 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it, Kara! 😉
First off, I thought I loved ya because of what you did with the Ikea storage solution for your bedroom. But now I know I do because you let me know about the Silhouette Black Friday deal! I’ve been wanting one for a while now and this is just too good a deal to pass up.
One question though, on the website it says to use the code BLACK to get the deal. If I use the code CLOSET does it benefit you in any way? I still want the deal but if I can help you out at the same time then that’s just an extra bonus.
One more question and then I really have to get started on the dishes (which seem to be multiplying as I type). How often do you go through blades and mats? Should I buy a couple extra of each while they are on sale or do they last a really long time and I won’t need to replace them for a while?
Aw, you’re too kind, Denise! So happy to know you’ve found some inspiration here at The Thinking Closet. Yes, the Black Friday deals are always the best of the year. To answer your question, the BLACK code will get you the same deals as my CLOSET code – – my code just means I make a small commission for the sale, which will go toward helping to run this site! 😉 So thanks for wanting to help a sister out.
Yes, I would recommend stocking up on some extra supplies (I always do). I tend to go through maybe 2 mats and 3 blades a year…but I’ve heard varying reports from others. I still think it’s a good idea to always have a spare mat and spare blade, so you’re not in a pinch. And I did a whole post with supplies I recommend for beginners…which you can check out HERE. But a lot depends on the types of crafts you’re hoping to do! So, let me know if you have any specific projects in mind, and I’d be happy to share some specific recommendations!
Excited for you, Denise!
Amazing parody! You definitely brought a smile to my face… and gave me some crafty ideas for Christmas 😉 Happy Thanksgiving Lauren! Have a wonderful day!
Oh yay! Always delighted to know I can give Emily a smile and some inspiration. Happy Day After Thanksgiving, friend!
Lauren,
As always you make me smile. Happy Thanksgiving!
Your FB SC friend,

Bravo! I have a thing for parodies! This was such a fun one!
Must be a theatre thing! 😉 Glad it tickled your fancy, Suzanne!
Thankful for you and your creative parody! Inspiring me to go singing and cutting! Happy Thanksgiving!
Ha ha. Thanks, Mama! You’ve always been my best audience for all things zany and sing-songy! 😉
It’s a blast to be in YOUR audience!! I am getting closer and closer to buying one of these crafty machines. xxoo
Also loved seeing the Vancouver Olympic mittens! Props and more props!! 🙂
I LOVE YOU! Seriously you’re so stinkin’ awesome 🙂 Your video made my day! Happy Thanksgiving!
Kirsten, you are Johnny-on-the-spot! I believe you were one of the FIRST to comment on my parody video last year and you are the first this year! Thanks for being such a fan and fab friend. P.S. I went to Season 52 here in Orlando recently and it made me all nostalgic for our dinner in Atlanta this past summer. Sweet times!
