My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | A photo-filled run-down of my go-to craft supplies that I reach for when pouring my heART in the margins of my ESV Crossway Journaling Bible! Everything from washi tape, gelatos, brush pens, paint, and more! Plus, a peek at what's on my wish list of supplies....

Some might say I’m a craft-supply-hoarder.

Others might say that I am a craft-supply-connoisseur who has made it her mission to experiment with a vast array of artistic mediums in an effort to share tried and tested wisdom with her fellow creatives.  Ahem.

Hoarder, connoisseur.  Potato, potahto.

Either way, my craft supply stash has grown considerably since I joined the new Journaling Bible movement this past winter.  The extra-wide two inch margin of my E.S.V. Crossway Journaling Bible became a blank canvas for artistic expression.  And craft supplies like paint and washi tape and sticker letters were all fair game for engaging with scripture in a new and vibrant way!

Now, if you’re like,

“Hold the phone!  What is this Journaling Bible movement you speak of?  I must learn more!”

Well, then, friend.  You’re come to the right place, because I have written three posts on the subject in hopes of them igniting a fire in you just as Shanna Noel’s Illustrated Faith website did for me.  Here’s your rabbit trail:

A bevy of Journaling Bible inspiration from ThinkingCloset.com

Welcome to My Journaling Bible Permission Pages: A Perfectionist's Approach to the Journaling Bible Flip-Through Video Tour of My Journaling Bible Image Map

Back to our regular scheduled programming.

These past several months of pouring my heART in the margins of my Journaling Bible, I’ve been like a pig in mud, experimenting with some of my oldie-but-goodie craft supplies, as well as discovering new mediums I’ve grown to love.

In fact, I narrowed ’em down to a list of My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies that I’m eager to share with you all today!

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies

Important disclaimer: Even if you have hoarder/connoisseur tendencies like I do, none of these supplies are absolutely necessary for creating beautiful pages.  All you really need to get started is a Bible, something to write with, and God.  Also, you’ll be amazed at what you can do with what you already have, so allow this list to spark your creativity.  Alternatively, this could serve as a wish list that you share with friends or family when they ask what you want for your birthday or Christmas.

Also, some of the links below are affiliate links, meaning if you make a purchase after clicking through, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.  Thanks for supporting this site!  Read all the fine print here.

2020 Update: For your convenience, I’ve gathered all of these supplies plus OTHER favorites in one handy collection in my Amazon Storefront. Check it out HERE.

Update: Check out the replay of my broadcast on Periscope to supplement your reading.  Y’all had some fantastic questions and favorite supplies of your own to share!

1.  E.S.V. Single-Column Journaling Bible by Crossway

I chose this particular Journaling Bible for a few reasons: the single-column so I wouldn’t be referencing verses from across two columns and the E.S.V. translation because it is revered as one of the best word-for-word literal translations of the Bible yet still reads beautifully.  (You can check it out on BibleGateway.com if you’re curious.)

My Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | #1 on the list? My Crossway E.S.V. Single-Column Journaling Bible...in ravishing red!

When I first opened up my Bible, I have to say, the 2 inch margins looked much smaller than I expected, and the pages felt much thinner than I imagined after seeing the wealth of mixed media these Bibles held in photos.  But I only saw that as a challenge to discover which supplies would work best!

The Bible itself is just shy of 8.5″ tall, which makes it quite portable.

Welcome to My Journaling Bible: heART in the margins | Here's a peek inside the book to see the pages, margin, and scale! Check out the full post for the inside scoop Q & A style about this new movement sweeping the margins of Bibles everywhere...and how you can use art to engage with scripture in a new and exciting way!

While the original red cover design seems to be sold out ev-ery-where, here’s the black cover design.

Also, I received word from Crossway that they have several new Journaling Bible editions coming out.  Huzzah!  (And the new covers are pretty snazzy if you ask me.)  Update: they’re now in stock and ready to ship!

  1. Antique Floral
  2. Summer Garden (Large Print)
  3. Cloth Over Board, Polka Dots
  4. Classic Marbled
  5. Cloth Over Board, Timeless

I also recommend calling your local Christian bookstore to see if they have any in stock.

Pens & Pencils

2.  Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are so much more than pens.  They’re “pigment liners.”  {Smile.}

My pack of 6 Staedtlers are great for detailed lettering and have very minimal bleed-through (it’s more like a faint shadow on the other side).  They also “play well with others” in that they write well atop dried paint, and you can run a wet brush overtop without your ink smearing.

Pretty fab.

3.  Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens

Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens are waterproof, acid-free India inks in beautiful, vibrant colors.  The brush tip that allows you a wide variety of widths, all the way to a fine point, so you can do more detailed work if needed.  Bleed-through is minimal to none, and I love working with them.

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | My E.S.V. Single-Column Journaling Bible by Crossway is probably by #1 favorite supply! Love the 2" wide margin.

4.  Faber-Castell Big Brush Pen

The Big Brush Pen in black is super fun to use for big n’ bold lettering atop mixed media; my favorite is atop acrylic.  It is not a “quiet” supply by any means.  And that’s what I love most about it!  In encourages boldness and risk-taking.

Journaling Bible in which I share tips, tricks, favorite supplies, techniques I've been exploring, and why this has been such a meaningful way for me to study the Bible these past 3 months. I hope it's an encouragement to you wherever you find yourself in your journey.

5. Gelly Roll White Ink Pen

Mega-huge thanks to my friend Bethany for introducing me to this gem, the Gelly Roll White Ink Pen, which is the perfect tool for creating a shadow-effect on lettering done with your Big Brush Pen!  I always just shadow the left and top edges of lettering…though you could do the right and bottom instead.  Just be consistent.

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | The Gelly Roll White Paint Pen is great for accenting or "shadowing" lettering done with the Faber-Castell Big Brush Pen. The effect is magnificent! Especially atop acrylic paint.

6.  Pencil & Eraser

It might seem silly to include something as simple as a pencil and eraser on a list like this, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it’d be silly not to.

I use pencil to pre-draw nearly every layout I do…whether it’s on a separate sheet of paper beside my Bible or on the page itself.  And I’m always glad I did because I’ve saved myself from running out of room or a misspelling.

Don’t underestimate the power of the pencil and eraser, my friends.

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | This may seem silly, but a pencil and eraser will be your best friend when creating in the pages of your Journaling Bible. Don't underestimate their importance!

7.  Twistables Colored Pencils

After hearing so many people rave about Crayola Twistables, I had to give ’em a whirl…and I have seen the light!  Not only do you never have to sharpen these colored pencils (just twist ’em!), the dull tips are so soft on your Journaling Bible pages, and the vibrant colors blend so well together.

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | Crayola Twistables are great colored pencils to use in your Journaling Bible - - their vibrant colors and dull tips make for easy blending and shading. Also, you never have to sharpen them. Just twist!

Paint & Pastels

8.  Acrylic Paints

The easiest way to add a big, bold spash of color atop your page is through a very thin layer of acrylic paint applied with an old gift card or credit card.  For a really great demo, check out this process video by Shanna Noel herself.

But I just use my regular ole’ Apple Barrel or Bella acrylic paints.  Nothin’ fancy!  And it does the trick.

9.  Watercolors Field Set with Brush

This little Watercolor Field Set with Brush has served me well, and despite being travel-size, it packs quite a punch with a wide variety of 24 different colors.  It also comes with a refillable Koi water brush, so you have everything you need to watercolor in your Bible!  I just recommend using very little water if you want fewer crinkles and wrinkles when your pages dry.  And always put a piece of cardstock behind your page to protect the others when painting or using brush pens.

10.  Gelatos

Here’s a glimpse at an entry I create using my set of Faber-Castell gelatos in pastel.  If you’ve never heard of gelatos before, they are “acid-free pigment sticks,” and they are magical.  They glide onto the page like butta’.  You can leave them as they are like I did here or take a wet brush and they become like watercolors.

Fun with Gelatos! Just part of the Flip-Through Video Tour of My Journaling Bible | Join me on this fun lil' video tour of the first 10 entries of my E.S.V. Journaling Bible in which I share tips, tricks, favorite supplies, techniques I've been exploring, and why this has been such a meaningful way for me to study the Bible these past 3 months. I hope it's an encouragement to you wherever you find yourself in your journey.

Of course, I just had to Instagram a photo of my gelatos in a waffle cone!

Don’t those pastels looks so creamy delicious?  Especially with names like Kiwi, Butter Cream, Guava, Elderberry, and Watermelon.  Yum.

Stickers & Stamps

11.  Alpha Stickers

Alpha stickers are a great supplement to hand-lettering or a replacement altogether!  So, before you cross your arms and tell me that you can’t explore this form of art worship because your handwriting is terrible, hear me out when I say alpha stickers are worth stocking up on!

Also, I’ll point out that some of my favorite alphabet stickers to use are these label letters by Tim Holtz.  They’re tiny enough that you can tackle longer words in your margin without spilling over…plus, they’ve got a fun retro vibe goin’ on, and I feel like the match any color scheme.  I’m a big fan.

Journaling Bible in which I share tips, tricks, favorite supplies, techniques I've been exploring, and why this has been such a meaningful way for me to study the Bible these past 3 months. I hope it's an encouragement to you wherever you find yourself in your journey.

12.  Alphabet Stamps

Alphabet stamps are a great alternative to alpha stickers.  I’m slightly obsessed with them and have at least four sets that all get frequent use, both in my Bible and beyond.  They’re nifty like that.

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | Alphabet stamps and Stayz On Ink Pads are two more of my favorite supplies to use in my Journaling Bible. They're great in conjunction with or in replacement of hand-lettering! And the ink really does stay on and works well with mixed media.

13.  Stayz On Ink Pad

If you’re looking for a great ink pad to accompany your stamps, look no further. The StayzOn Ink Pad is true to its name in that it “stays on” the page, and won’t be easily lifted by water or paint once it dries.  I’ve had mixed results with bleed-through, but when you stamp atop paint, it works like a dream.

14.  Embellishment Stickers

The sticker aisle at Hobby Lobby is the equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle for me…and I can get lost there for hours at a time, perusing the variety of border, banner, shape, and phrase stickers to embellish my pages.  This is where I really need to work hard to curb my instinct to “buy-all-the-things.”  But I recommend buying a few packs with lots of variety that will serve you well in multiple layouts and with a variety of color schemes.  Here are a few of my favorites: labels | borders | clear stickers | shapes.

Welcome to My Journaling Bible: heART in the margins | Here's a closer look at some of the new supplies I bought to help decorate my Bible pages. Check out the full post for the inside scoop Q & A style about this new movement sweeping the margins of Bibles everywhere...and how you can use art to engage with scripture in a new and exciting way!

15.  Date Stamp

Just like I do in a typical journal entry, I like to date my Journaling Bible entries…because it’s astounding how quickly I can forget when I worked on a page!

I have both a Trodat Self-Inking Date Stamp and a Heidi Swapp Roller Date Stamp.  The first is a little more industrial, and the second has a more feminine flair with the month written in script.

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | My Trodat Self-Inking Date Stamp and Heidi Swapp Rubber Date Stamp are great for marking the day I worked on my entry. I use my Stayz On Ink Pad with the stamp to ensure it really does stay on for the long haul!

Final Touches

16.  Enamel Shapes

Known by a variety of names such as enamel “shapes” and “dots” and “dew drop stickers,” these little do-dads are fun embellishments for your Journaling Bible pages.  I like to apply them randomly or wherever an empty space needs a little pizazz.  You can find them in stores by Heidi Swapp or online at Freckled Fawn:

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | Enamel dots are great sticker embellishments to use on the pages of your Journaling Bible. Heidi Swapp and Freckled Fawn sell them.

17.  Washi Tape

I am such a fan of washi tape, I have an entire drawer in my Roll-Top Desk dedicated to it.  And because I use my washi tape in my Journaling Bible so much, that drawer now lives with my Journaling Bible supplies.  That way, I can easily grab some to help lettering stand out or to adhere a tab or just add an extra pop of pattern!

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | My mini drawer full of washi tape comes in handy when I need an added embellishment or pretty way to adhere my tabs. It no longer lives in my desk but near my Journaling Bible supplies where it gets constant use.

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | A strip of washi tape can no only help adhere a tap to the top of the page, but it can provide a playful backdrop to the rest of my design!

18.  Paper Tags

Paper tags are a great way to give yourself more space for journaling without permanently covering text.  As you can see in the entry below, I used a “tip-in” technique where I taped down one edge of the tag, so the other end could be lifted up to reveal the scripture beneath it.  This is a great way to make the most of the real estate and also add a touch of whimsy!

19.  Mister Huey’s Misting Spray

Not only is Mister Huey’s Misting Spray a fun supply to say, but it’s a fun supply to spray onto the pages of your Journaling Bible.  It can really help highlight a piece of text through the use of negative space like you can see in the entry above.  I recommend working outside when spritzing, and cover up anything you don’t want misted.  Mister Huey’s can have a mind of his own sometimes!  {Wink wink.}

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | Mister Huey's Misting Spray! Not only is it fun to SAY, but it's fun to SPRAY onto the pages of your Journaling Bible. And it's a great way to make a piece of text stand out (using negative space).

20.  Tab Punch

This tab punch makes it super easy to create tabs for the top edges of my Journaling Bible where I like to write  a word or phrase that captures the essence of that entry.  That way, if I need a reminder about God’s grace or having trust in the Lord, the tabs can take me to a scripture passage that will speak to that.

I’ve also seen tabs with the verse reference, so I’d recommend tabbing your pages in a way that fits how you engage with scripture.

To adhere them, I just apply a strip of washi tape or double-stick tape.  Done and done!

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | My We R Memory Keepers Tab Punch makes tab creation super easy. It's one of my faves!

My 20 Favorite Journaling Bible Supplies | The tab punch makes it easy to mark my different entries, so I know where to look if I need a reminder of God's Grace or having trust in the Lord.

Other Favorites:

16 Color Micron Pen Set: explore more lettering possibilities using a variety of colorful pens.

Derwent Eraser Pen: Yep, this is simply an easer you can hold like a pen…but with all the prep I do in pencil before my “final draft,” this comes in handy!

Liquitex Heavy Body Paint: Shanna Noel turned me on to these. You can apply them thinly to your pages with little-to-n0 bleed through.

Hand Made Modern Acrylic Paints: This is a line of 2 oz. acrylic paints from Target I can’t get enough of because of the glorious colors!

This heat gun is handy to speed up drying paint!

Clear Gesso: If you want to “prime” your pages before applying paint or inks to really protect the other side from bleed-through, then gesso is the way to go!  Here’s a demo by Rebekah R. Jones in which she applies watercolor atop gesso.

On My Wish List:

Peerless Watercolors: I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about how vibrant these watercolors are, and I’m fascinated by the fact that they come in little sheets from which you pull the color using a wet brush.

Embossing Powder | Clear Ink Pad: I’m very intrigued by the creative potential that comes with embossing, especially when combined with gelatos as demo’d by Rebekah R. Jones in this video.

  1. Wow, those sprays look awesome, but do they have more colors than green and yellow, and where can you find them? Also do they bleed through the page?

    1. Yes! I’ve seen lots of different colors where the mists are concerned. Mine do bleed through a bit, but I bet if you prepped your page with some gesso first, you wouldn’t have as much bleed-through. Or you could just incorporate the bleed-through into your entry on the opposite page like I like to do! Fun fun. You can click through the link in my post to the Amazon listing for those sprays.

  2. A friend gave me a journaling Bible two years ago, and for various reasons, I’m just now about to start journaling in it! YAY! I just watched your vid and loved it! It’s so full of great products and inspiration, and your personality is a joy! The video also triggered additional ideas for using many of the supplies that I already have on hand (and I have a lot). Thank you so much.

May Your Day Be Merry and Bright!
    D~~~~

    1. Oh I’m so glad you found inspiration and got excited to dive in to use what you already have. May your time in the Word be such a blessing to you and your relationship with God! Take care, Donna.

  3. Two words… MIND BLOWN! Twistable Colored Pencils what WHAT!!! And Clear gesso??? Now ya tell me :/
I recently attend a Church Conference where another Pastor shared her love of Bible Journaling. I though that this would be a class on how to read and understand the Bible. It was/is so much more. After I returned home from said conference, where I ordered my very own journaling Bible, I set out to the local craft store and dropped a pretty penny. More so to supply a future group study thang with my local community…once I get the hang of journaling myself.
Here’s my question… I’m not the best drawerer/artist with a pencil. What is the best or most effective way to trace images on to my pages? I can whip up some nifty images as a graphic design, but I can’t draw freehand to save my soul.
Also, do you have a link/video how-to for the gelatos? Bought ’em…don;t know how to use ’em

    1. So happy you found inspiration at that church conference and in this post! I hope you’ve been able to dive into Bible Journaling these past few months…but to answer your question, I’d just print out designs to trace in high contrast (white/black) and place that sheet behind your Bible page. The page is so thin you should be able to trace no problem. I’ve also done the opposite where I place it atop the page, and draw over the outline with my pencil. It leaves faint marks I can then trace with my pen. There’s also so much you can do with splashes of color and stickers and stamps that don’t require any “drawing” skills. I’m hoping to share some how-tos for gelatos soon! It’s on my list! But check out YouTube. There are lots of great Bible Journalers who are sharing their favorite techniques over there. All the best to you!

  4. I’m wanting to start out with highlighting. Any advice on highlighters that don’t bleed through and also don’t soak and wrinkle the pages? Thanks in advance!

    1. I have one Bible where I just highlight and take notes, and I have to say, all the ones I’ve tried bleed through my Bible pages unless I’m using yellow (I’ve found). It doesn’t bother me too much. Buuuuut if you’re looking to use a variety of colors without bleed-through, I’ve heard of these “dry highlighters” you can buy on Amazon that give the effect of highlighting but are totally dry and therefore have no bleed-through. You could also use colored pencils! I love Crayola Twistables for that reason. Hope that helps, Rosy!

  5. Lauren,

I’m going to get really deep for just a sec. Today was an extreemly trying day for me. My faith in the Lord and humanity was tested at a level I was not prepared for. I decided to not let it get me down. I started a girls Bible study group last year. We took a break for the summer. We start back up next week. Our first week back I will have the girls make prayer journals. Week 2 is all about Bible journaling. Today, in my moment of weakness, I found this post from last year. I know it seems small but your joy in sharing not just you gift but also your love for the Word put me in much better spirits. My 7 year old daughter watched the second half of the video with me. Now we’ve set up a Bible journaling date for the two of us to dive in the Word. I just want to thank you for unknowingly brightening my day with the Light of the Lord that shines through you. God Bless you!!!

  6. Wow Lauren, I just found your blog – sadly a month too late for the giveaway – but regardless, I’m glad I found it, because you’ve given a lot of great ideas for Bible journaling! I can’t wait to use some of your 20 favorite supplies in my own Bible! I’ll be sharing this with my friends as well.
    Thank you.
    Lori @strengthofitall

  7. I’ve recently been OBSESSED with journaling Bibles and have wanted one for so long! I’ve always been really bad at doing daily devotions and I feel that using my artistic side will help me stay accountable. And I love your supply list! I never would’ve though about using a gift card to apply a thin layer of paint. So creative! Thanks for this awesome giveaway! And happy blogiversary!

  8. I am completely excited that I have found you on Pinterest today. I wouldn’t have found this new inspiration to journal in my bible. I never imagined the extent my note taking could go. Holy Moly this is awesome. I am excited also about this post because it has introduced me to some cool new art utensils I have never tried or even heard of. More specifically those Faber Castell Gelatos! I love pastels! Agree with you, it so screams Ice Cream 🙂

I love your ideas, and your creativity! Pretty awesome find today!

  9. I love all that you inspire me with on your site! I am new to bible journaling and am taking away so much for ideas in journaling but also growing so much in Gods word!!

Thank you for the time you put into this for all of us!!

    Warm Regards,
    Dana

  10. Newcomer to Bible Journaling and I have to admit that it took me a week of thinking and planning before I was able to make my first mark in my Bible. But once I did I felt free. Started with the rules page as you suggested and now I’m ready to go. Your favorite things would be such a welcome addition, and winning a journaling Bible would be great as I could pass it on to my daughter and share the experience with her.

  11. I would love to try any of these supplies. This is my first visit to your blog, but not the last. I have signed up for updates. Thank you!!!

  12. I have been lurking and drooling over you creations – and would love to win the Journaling bible so I can start myself. You are an inspiration! Your list of supplies has added quite a few things to my wish list!

  13. Love this post! I’ve been on the fence with starting bible journaling but see all of your fun supplies and your beautiful pages has pushed me over the edge! I’m looking forward to checking out your related videos as well. Thanks for sharing all of these great supplies and for the giveaway!

  14. Another most fabulous, informative post, Lauren! Love how comprehensive and fun-filled your posts always are and your pictures are always gorgeous. I haven’t gotten a Journaling Bible yet, but did buy a couple of neat blank page books when I first heard about this kind of journaling (through you.) I’ve had so much fun journaling on those. That white Gelly Roll pen is one of my very favorites; I use it often!

Happy, happy anniversary to the Thinking Closet! It’s one of my favorite places to visit and is home to my favorite blogger. All the best, Lauren. God bless you today and always.

  15. This is such an awesome giveaway! I’ve been wanting a journaling bible since I saw your first blog post on them! Congrats on 3 years! I love your blog!

  16. Lauren, I’ve so enjoyed following you since I found the video tour of your journaling Bible on Pinterest awhile back, and wanted to let you know that you’ve not only inspired me, but my nine-year-old daughter as well! She was fascinated and wanted to get started right away…after a vain search of local thrift stores we finally returned home and decided to get started on an old copy of the Message version of the Wisdom books…it has fairly wide margins and more than enough verses to start with. We have enjoyed some wonderful, peaceful hours working on pages together and it blessed my socks off to see my gal working these precious words over in her heart. The results pleased us both very much. I appreciated your good leading in the area of permission pages and non-perfectionism! I will have to send you a couple of her examples. Now our little mother-daughter Bible study is doing a book together on the names of God, and our ongoing crafty activity is to keep a journal of what we’re learning…You would have loved it…a table full of 3-5 graders up to their elbows in washi tape and journaling pens! …so, thanks again…I’ll add my congrats on three years of blogging to the many who’ve already commented. And thanks so much for the giveaway…I never enter these but this would be an extra sweet encouragement right now. Joy to you, Sister! Thanks for splashing the internet with your overflow. ~ Mel

  17. Girl!! You are amazing. First, congrats on 3 years, that’s incredible!! You are such an inspiration to me and SO many others. Your creativity, artistic talent, and just all around amazingly sweet personality make you someone I absolutely love following and looking up to. And not to mention, this giveaway is amazing as well!! I’ve been hearing a lot about these journaling Bibles, and while I lack in the artistic side of creativity, it’s definitely something I’d loooooove to explore and help grow in my faith with! Thanks for being YOU, friend! 🙂

  18. Love the idea of creating art in your Bible. I never would of thot of that. All the supplies make me drool. I love all crafting stuff and probably have too much, nah can’t have too much. 🙂

  19. For those of us who have always had to squeeze comments, notes, and thoughts into the very small margins of our Bibles, this journaling Bible is long overdue! And to be able to jazz it all up, well that is just the icing on the cake!! Love your blog, Lauren. You have great ideas and I enjoy your writing style and zest for life. Congratulations on your 3 year blogiversary. I have only been following you for a few months…sounds like I have some catching up to do! Thanks for this fabulous giveaway.

  20. I love the idea of art journaling in my Bible. Just have to get the courage to break free of the fear of messing up a beautiful blank margin. Thanks for the inspiration, Lauren!

  21. I have been wanting to try Bible journaling and your blog post makes me want to do it more. Can’t wait to get started.

  22. I just love supplies that get my inspiration flowing. Anything with color makes me happy!! Thank you for such a great opportunity to win an amazing package!!

  23. Thanks so much for the opportunity to have these fantastic supplies. I am in a rather intensive Bible study at the time and have thought how great it would be to journal along with it. Haven’t been a follower very long but love your blog.

  24. Oh my! Thank you so much for the chance to win Journalling Bible. I tried to find one in UK but it seems they’re not available here, and it’s way too expensive to get it from US. So it would be so amazing to win ^_^ I’ve found your blog few months ago and truly love all you do 🙂

  25. Hi there !
Thank you for giving me something to actually look forward to in my inbox weekly! I fee like we have been friends for a while! I’m getting married in just a short while, you have helped me w Valentine’s Day, and wedding gifts. Thank you for being wonderful and for bringing a weekly smile to my face. Keep up the great work !
    Thanks for being you!

  26. I really want to start bible journaling with my 6 year old but am having a hard time justifying the expense for 2 new bibles. It would be such a blessing to win one! Happy blogiversary and thanks for the opportunity Lauren!

  27. Wow! I just discovered your website and I am so excited to start my own journaling Bible. You are an inspiration. Thank you!

  28. I’m thinking the Gelatos look very nice in the pastel colors. That would be my favorite thing
    from your list.
    Blessings to you

  29. I’m itching to try the gelatos!!! I just got one tube of the heavy body acrylic and I am excited about using it in my Bible (with a credit card, who’d have thought….. HA) you are inspirational and I enjoy your beautiful work! God Bless You!

  30. I might need a craft-hoarder intervention…perhaps a 12 step program! I have begun to gather supplies to make a Christmas gift basket for my aging mom. She is an amazingly gifted, creative and godly woman, so I thought Bible journaling would be just the thing! I was specifically looking for a list of favorite Bible/supplies when I found you on instagram! Thanks for the great info!

  31. I would most like to try the gelatos! Although, I can guarantee that I would fully enjoy every other item in this stash. I have attempted to find an appropriate journaling Bible in the past, but the limitations of having to order online made it difficult to find the right one. This one looks perfect!

  32. I just found your website, and I LOVE it! You make Bible Journaling look so easy! That is my goal for the small group I am leading in the fall… Make Bible Journaling EASY and FUN for everybody! This giveaway is Awesome! Thank you for sharing!

  33. Ah, it’s impossible to hoard craft supplies! I have a room full, spilling out into other rooms. At least I have an understanding husband (who says he doesn’t care how much I spend as long as I use it to bless others). 😀 I am an assistant in a special education class and my teacher is always impressed when we talk about a craft project and I arrive with the supplies the next day.

I’ve been hesitant to start in my Bible but seeing your Permission Pages, I’m going to follow in your footsteps and give myself permission.

  34. Thank you for hosting such a fabulous giveaway! I would love to have that Bible! i have not see one with margins so wide for you to use for writing and drawing! I still use my bible from 1992 with its binding falling apart, lol…I have not been able to put it away because I recorded answered prayers and other events in it and highlight a scripture and whatever thoughts and images I receive after a dream or a prayer…Wow! To have such a bible AND creative tools- a dream come true!

  35. Oh, my, pure joy! Thanks for sharing your beautiful worship art examples, fave supplies and tips! Exactly the fresh inspiration I need. Thanking God for leading me to your blog today, as I have been spiritually worn out and in need of encouragement. Thank you for giving glory to God and joy to your blog readers!

  36. Your Periscope video yesterday got me so excited and inspired to try my hand at Bible Journaling! I love that you have found this medium that is such a perfect fit for your beautiful, creative soul! Thanks for sharing all of your wisdom and colorful goodies with us.

  37. I love the 20 favorite list. And I love your post about Permission pages. I’m totally doing this. I think the Permission pages will be the first thing I write in my Bible. I am really struggling with the fear of messing up. It is holding me back big time. I am stuck acquiring supplies but not using an y of them. Ugh!!! MUST GT OVER THIS HURDLE!!! Start by giving myself permission. : ) Thank you so much. And thanks for the give away too. M

  38. These are amazing! I am such a visual learner and applying these to my bible will make my focus so much better.

    High five for creativity!

  39. I’ve read through the Bible in a year a few times, but it rushed me too much. I’m sure I retained some information, and I don’t regret doing it, but I now have a chronological Bible that I’m moseying (is that a word even) through and dating where I start each time. At the rate I’m going, it will probably take me several years, but I’m savoring every moment and every word of the Word!

  40. As an older blogger in this world of energetic and innovative young ladies like yourself, having some tools to get the Bible Journaling started to share with ladies my age would be AMAZING! I’m so excited that I found you!

  41. Thank you for sharing so much information, and this is a great giveaway!
I recently started doing some Scripture art in a small art tablet.

    1. Oh my goodness, I literally just laughed out loud. You are too clever, my dear. Love the glimpse Periscope gives us into each other’s hearts. Yours was so evident! And I finished up that scope feeling refreshed in my soul. What a gift you have. Looking forward to getting you to 500 followers so we can play that Newlyweds game with you and the mister!

  42. I want to try the Gelatos. I love all your ideas for journaling in your Bible and other crafts you do! You inspire me to make me think I can do it too!

  43. Gelatos are the most amazing thing ever! And I just bought a bunch of the pitt Big Brush markers. I’ve been using them in my art journal and I looooove them.

  44. I watched 3 of the linked videos again today. So much information and so much encouragement on your blog. I would love to have a Pitt Big Brush pen (and wish good penmanship came with it)!

    1. Oh, I’m so happy to hear they were helpful! Ha ha, and don’t worry too much about poor penmanship. It’s amazing how much improvement you’ll see with a little practice. And I keep reminding myself this isn’t an art contest. It’s about me and God and no one can tell me otherwise. 😉

  45. I am over the moon pumped to begin this new hobby! I’ve always been creative and a doodler & as horrible as this sounds I have never read the entire bible. This is going to be a new beautiful adventure. Thank you for making it easier to know which supplies are a must have & a must try!

    1. Lindsey, I’ve never read it cover to cover either! My comic book bible, my Dad and I read something like 8 times over…but I need to get on the “read the bible in a year” challenge. This would be a great way to go about it. Journaling our way through!

  46. Lauren I absolutely love you!!! Today was your first Periscope that I participated in and I just want to tell you how infectious you and your passion are!! Your 20 favorite bible journaling supplies is a great introduction to this creative worship outlet that I have just discovered. You calmed the “hesitant perfectionist” in me and have ignited a fire in me to jump feet first with NO fear. You and Shanna Noel (Illustrated Faith) have unlocked and swung my “creative door” wide open. I thank our Lord for putting you 2 on my path and nurturing my relationship with our Lord and Savior. I pray His blessings for you and your family.

    1. Aw, Shellie, you are a dear. Thank you for this comment. Thank you for those blessings. Thank you SO much for being there today on Periscope and for your awesome participation. I’m so glad to hear that this been a helpful intro for you. That was my hope! Ooo, I’ve never heard the term “hesitant perfectionist” before, but that’s me to a T. And I totally forgot to mention this today, but you’ll want to check out this post on my Permission Pages. https://www.thinkingcloset.com/2015/04/03/permission-pages-a-perfectionists-approach-to-the-journaling-bible/ It was such a helpful exercise for me to free myself of the paralysis that comes with perfectionism in order to get to what this is really about: encountering God and His gospel message in a creative, new way. Let the creative door swing wide open, indeed! Eek! I’m excited for you.

  47. Loved being able to catch the live periscope! Thank you for sharing your favorite items with us. Would love to win these. I haven’t purchased a journaling bible yet so we be blessing to win one.

    1. So great to have you be a part of it, Adriene! You had so many thoughtful and helpful comments in the chat. Hope you get your hands on a Journaling Bible soon so you can pour all that creativity into those 2 inch wide margins!

  48. It’s so much fun seeing what other people are using in their Bibles! I’m a washi tape fanatic! Thank you for providing this great opportunity to try some new products!

  49. I think this is an amazing give away and best wishes to all! Of all the supplies I’m really excited about the gelatos I’ve really wanted to try those for quite some time. However, the reason I’ve don’t my very first tween and signed up on periscope is because I want to do bible journaling with my daughter. She is going to be 10 and I’d love to share this with her. Having the supplies in addition to God’s Word would be amazing! Also, for gelatos…doesn’t those sound yummy? #mustnoteat

    1. Ha ha, gelatos certainly do sound yummy…and they are heaps of fun to play with! Love that you want to share the Journaling Bible experience with your daughter. My Mom and I have done a few pages side by side, and it was such a sweet time for us. I know it will be the same for you two!

  50. love all the things you use. I was wondering about the Staedtler pens. So glad you shared what you use. I can’t wait to use my gelatoes in my bible.

  51. Oh, my goodness, this is an amazing give-away! I’m just trying to get started & would love to win. Love looking at all the examples others have done. Really stirs up a passion to really get into God’s Word in a new & creative way. Thanks for the chance to win!

    1. I know! Me neither, April. I’m especially excited for all the folk who have been itchin’ to get their hands on a Bible, but haven’t been able to because of them being sold out everywhere. And the covers are so purdy.

  52. This is a great giveaway. I never really thought about combining my creative side with the bible until seeing War Room and then reading your blog. I would love to try out those Gelatos!! That’s my kind of action right there… anytime u can give me the light airy feel of watercolor and the sparkle of metallic, you’ve won me over.

    1. Aw, Chaconna, you have a wonderful way with words. Loved how you described your eagerness to try out gelatos. Also, you’re the second person to mention War Room in these comments. Just watched the trailer and was so moved. Will have to add it to my TO WATCH list. Thanks for sharing!

  53. What a lovely thing to offer to your readers/subscribers! Thank you so much for the opportunity! I’d absolutely love to win one of these beautiful bibles & the wonderful supplies!

  54. I love your enthusiasm! Congratulations on your 3rd anniversary! I am happy to have found you through Pinterest! I am new to artistic journaling and love your ideas! Mary

    1. Interesting thought, Heather. I’ve always felt that being crafty can be God-honoring simply because we are using our God-given creativity. But you’re right, there’s something special about using that passion for creative expression while studying the Word!

  55. Happy Blogiversary and thanks for sharing they all are wonderful looking products but I would love to get the tab punch.

  56. So excited to have found your site! I’m just now diving into art journaling, and my discovery of Bible journaling just makes it SO much more meaningful. Looking forward to more great posts!

    1. Aw, thank you for taking the time to comment! I’m looking forward to having you along for the ride, Rebecca. Yes, Bible journaling takes are journaling to a whole new level, doesn’t it? I love it, too!

  57. I have loved this whole concept of a journaling bible since you first posted about it. It’s like a more sophisticated version of coloring books! You’re so sweet to give some away!!

    1. Ha ha, that’s a great concept, Amanda! You’re so right. And it does take me back to the arts and crafts days of my youth when I could get lost coloring for hours. I realize that as an adult, I need that creative retreat time, too. Best of luck with the giveaway, friend!

  58. Wow Lauren! Congratulations on 3 years blogging! And, you are such an angel! May God bless you abundantly for sharing about bible journaling and for sending His word (a journaling bible) to 3 winners and a whole trunk of supplies to one of the winners! Thank you, thank you, for sharing your bible pages and favorite supplies. I read your “Permissions Page” post when I first started bible art journaling in April, and my first pages were inspired by that. I also post a link to your blog about permissions pages whenever I see anyone comment on FB Bible Journaling pages that they don’t know where to start. I hope to be able to try Gelatos one day too. God bless you!

    1. Oh I’m delighted to hear that you were able to take some inspiration from my Permission Pages and run with it! That was my high hope. And you’re a dear for sharing that post with your friends and Bible Journaling buddies. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Blessings back atcha, dear!

  59. Ive never seen the gelatos before and am most interested in trying those! They look so neat and I love the color you got from them! I’ve already don’t my “perfectionist permission pages”. I’d love to add some gelato color to them!

    1. That’s awesome, ErinKaye! I’m so glad to hear you did some Permission Pages of your own to combat perfectionism. It really has worked wonders for me. And gelatos would be SO much fun to add to them, for sure. Hope you get the chance, girl!

  60. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to try out some of these supplies!! If there is one thing I love it’s crafting supplies! Happy blogaversery!

  61. You are the first to introduce me to bible journaling. I am fascinated. This would tie worship and studying the word together for me!

    1. I totally understand the fascination! I discovered it months ago, and I still can’t get enough of looking at others’ pages and seeing new creative possibilities emerge. I really love the term “art worship” because it captures the concept so well. Honored to have been the first to introduce this to you, Jen. Hope it launches you into an exciting new adventure into the Word.

  62. Happy Blogiversary! I’m new to Bible journaling – so new I haven’t actually started yet! I’ve been standing on the shore for weeks, afraid to dive in. Your blog is such a great resource and inspiration. As a collector of a variety of crafting materials and office supplies, I have learned one can never have too much! It’s always nice to find a group of like-minded people.

  63. Congratulations on your 3rd anniversary! Great Blog. I love the idea of this. I am not at all creative or artistic but I think this would make a beautiful wedding shower gift for my oldest daughter who is getting married next Spring.

  64. Hi Lauren,
Congrats on your 3rd year blog anniversary!!

I am new to Bible Journaling. The last few weeks I have been researching the different types of bible journaling. Your blog is one that I fell in love with the idea of Bible Journaling.

I would love to win one of the Journaling Bibles.
Thank you for the opportunity to try to win one.

  65. What a fabulous giveaway. I’ve never tried the Pitt Artist Pens in my Bible. I need to do that. Those sprays look fabulous! I need to get me some of those. 🙂 Congratulations on 3 years, from a new follower.

  66. Lauren, congrats on your 3rd blogiversary!! What a generous giveaway 🙂 I have just started faith journaling and love that I can use so many things from my stash. As soon as possible get a heat gun and some clear gesso. I honestly wouldn’t even use the gesso without a heat gun. By drying a corner first then holding that corner tuat you are able to dry the page and not have the wrinkle/crinkle issue. I love using acrylics and watercolors and ohmygoodness have you tried Caran d’Ache neocolors?!

  67. Congratulations on your 3 year blog birthday! How exciting!

I was so enthralled with your Bible journaling post as I didn’t even realize there is a special journaling Bible! I’ve always just used pencil crayons in my regular Bible. You’ve opened my creative world up in a wonderful new way! Thank you! 🙂

  68. I have been intrigued by bible journaling for months. I just don’t have the materials to five in. These prizes are amazing!

  69. This post is so helpful! I am trying to go deeper into the Bible and just yesterday I started exploring Bible journaling. Today I used some acrylics and stickers I already had on notebook paper and I would love to keep going. Winning a journaling Bible and supplies would be such a blessing for this new journey. Thank you!

  70. I have been using FC Pitt brush pens for years and I absolutely love them! I have yet to try them in my bible journaling as I am new to it but I’m excited! 🙂 Are you familiar with http://www.rebekahrjones.com ? Check her out if you haven’t!

  71. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary on your 3rd year of blogging!! This giveaway is so awesome! I love everything and all of your ideas on your blog. Thank you for giving us the chance to win!

  72. Congratulations on your Happy 3rd year of blogging. Wow!! Keep up the great work and sharing with all of us.

I would love to win one of the Journaling Bibles. I have been wanting to purchase one, just haven’t done so yet. Thank you for the opportunity to try to win one.

  73. I have heard of journaling Bibles and wasn’t that interested. THEN….I stumbled upon your blog and your video flip through your journaling Bible and I was HOOKED!! I love your ideas, the different supplies you use and the fact that you stressed how easy it was even for those that aren’t artistic. I am definitely looking forward to Bible journaling and hoping to get my 12 year old daughter interested.

  74. I love the effects you’ve created. What a meaningful way to look back at words that have had resonance with you during particular times in your life…
I used to keep large blank books of doodles and notes and vague diary entries when I was a teenager and I recently came across them again (15 years later!) – the memories, and the resolutions, and the loveliness just all came flooding back. I would really welcome the chance to do that again.

Great post! I will deffo check out those gelatos anyway!!

  75. I found your site through your journal bible post! I love that you give your readers the chance to try your favorite items! God Bless and thank you for the opportunity.

  76. Happy 3 year anniversary, Lauren! September 7th is my birthday and I just celebrated only 6 months of blogging here in Central FL. We went to see the movie “War Room” to celebrate and thought it was fantastic. A great inspiration for the journaling bible movement.

    1. Happy belated birthday to you, Diane. And that’s so funny, you’re the second person to mention that movie in these comments. Just watched the trailer and was so moved. Will have to add it to my TO WATCH list. Thanks for sharing!

  77. First of all I want to say a huge Congrats to you on your 3rd year blogiversary! Way to go. You have touched so many lives and inspired others to do greater.

I have been wanting a journaling Bible for so long and hope to get one soon.

Thanks for giving back to everyone!

  78. I love visiting your instagram to see your Bible journal. I have been looking, watching and wanting to try bible journaling but am intimidated by it a little. I Still want to try and I really like the E.S.V. Single-Column Journaling Bible by Crossway. Thank you for the opportunity.

  79. Your journaling is so beautiful. I have recently began Bible journaling and would love to try out these supplies, especially the twistable crayons, since I have seen alot of people using those.

  80. In most excited about the bible & the gel pens! I’m very new to journaling & I’m very excited about getting started! 🙂

  81. Your Bible is gorgeous!! I’ve picked up my reading lately and I’d love to start drawing in it as well. I must get me some of those Twistable Colored Pencils!!

  82. I didn’t know there was a Bible specifically for journaling, at least not journaling like you are doing. The examples are so pretty! I’d have to say the Bible you are offering would be my favorite pick.
    Thank you!

  83. This was such an inspiring post!!! I have wanted to try Bible journaling like this for quite some time…I have been watching the “movement” for about 6 months but haven’t put my toe in the water yet. I think this is exactly what I need to do this fall! Thanks for the push! 🙂

  84. I love faith journaling!! My walk has gone higher than ever as I use the creativity He gave me to draw nearer to Him. No pun intended.

  85. I love that you are giving away the Bible too! I have always wanted to do that but just felt that my one Bible is too sacred for that. It holds many memories for me and is falling apart at the seams. It was the bible my parents gave me after I went back to Baptist Bible College after I was hit by a drunk driver. I had to start my sophomore year of college over again. So many things happened to me during that time and were so character building. My beautiful bible was with me through it all. I love this giveaway and thank you for it. I also love your blog and your willingness to share it with us. Thank you!

  86. You have a beautiful blog, so glad I stumbled upon it. I love art journaling and have wanted to get into Bible Art Journaling but the journals are always sold out. Love that you are doing a giveaway with them. Look forward to following you!

  87. Happy Anniversary to you and thanks for such a great article. This is something new to me and I want to learn more about it, so, as soon as I have the time I am going to research all the links that you have provided. God bless………….

  88. Happy Anniversary! Your posts have inspired me – especially the Journaling Bible ones. I come from a long line of “Thou shalt not write in your Bible”, but alas, I will disappoint my ancestors. 🙂 I have a Journaling Bible on my birthday wish list, and I plan to write and draw all over that good book! Thanks for offering the giveaway!!

  89. You have so many supplies and I’d love to have any of them, but especially the Bible, the white gel pens or the roller date stamp. In July ordered the clear gesso that Rebekah Jones uses but it’s on back order. I am still working up my courage to make my first entry – I love your permission pages, but my writing isn’t as nice as yours so I won’t even try that. Pray that I’ll be brave enough to worship the Lord without fear that my entries won’t be good enough. Many blessings to you for sharing!

  90. Happy anniversary!!! That is so exciting! I have just started doing some journaling in a notebook but I have been looking for a journaling bible to spend some artistic time with God. Thank you for this opportunity!

  91. Super sad face from this international reader, because craft supplies = happiness.
BUT a super huge ginormous smile for you, lovely Lauren: HAPPY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
I’m so delighted that I have been along for the ride for a while now, because there would be a huge hole in my heart/life if you and The Thinking Closet weren’t in it. I genuinely hope that this space continous to bring you joy and excitement, but mostly because I’m selfish and I want to keep seeing you around 😉 Hugs & love!

  92. Thanks for sharing your favorite products. My daughter’s birthday is coming up and I know she’d love to try some new things in her journaling Bible. Thanks for the inspiration.

  93. Ohmygoodness I’ve never heard of this but I’m SO getting one whether I win it or buy it!! This will make the best Christmas gift for my 3 sisters too ? thank you for sharing and happy blogiversary! You are too much fun ?

  94. I would love to try the gel or the Staz and the pens the Alpha letters oh my to many to pic just love to try them all.

  95. Thank you for such a generous giveaway! I don’t know why, but I’m liking the idea of using the Rolling Date Stamp and I’ve actually not used Washi tape yet! I know! Can you believe that???!!! 😀 Thank you, again! 😀

  96. You are so talented! I consider myself a crafty person but I would never have thought to do anything like this! It is absolutely gorgeous!!

  97. I absolutely love the idea of art journal long in a Bible! Thank you for sharing your experiences as you create beautiful art that illustrates Scripture. Oh, and Happy 3rd Bloggiversary, too! 🙂

  98. I’m still not sure about using and adorning a journaling Bible but from reading your posts it sure seems as though it’s a wonderful pathway for better understanding the Bible’s verses. I think if I should happen to win, I would plan to use the Bible along with a companion book. Congrats on three years blogging.

  99. Thank you so much for this! I recently had a friend show my her Bible and I was amazed. I so want to do this. And a greatly appreciate you for sharing your knowlege 🙂 God bless!

  100. I love the idea of journaling in my bible. Can’t wait to learn more about how you do yours. The giveaway is fantastic! I would love to win the supplies to help me get started. Thank you! 🙂

  101. Ooh a red bible. Love it.
and thanks for the info on the watercolor field set, I lost mine in a move and have been looking to replace them.

  102. I first learned about Bible journaling through you! I now follow so many inspirational ladies on IG who draw in their Bibles. Love this creative way of praise & worship!! I would love to try the misting spray & the gelatos! I hoard craft supplies, too!! Thanks for offering such a wonderful giveaway!!

  103. So many amazing things! Who could pic a fave! I would say that top on my list is an actual journaling bible! I have a bible that I art/journal in but not an official journaling bible with all that ROOM!

  104. I can’t narrow the whole list of your 20 favorites down to just one!! I would love to delve into this and am a bit apprehensive so far! Love all the beautiful Colors in the watercolors & colored pencils.

  105. Your Bible Journaling looks so amazing…I would be thrilled to try any and all, as I don’t yet have a journaling Bible. If I had to narrow it down…would love to try the StazOn ink pad and alpha stamps.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  106. I love seeing what you’ve done with your journaling bible. I used to do a lot of calligraphy mixed media paintings with scripture and I miss the way that process was a kind of scripture meditation. I have thought of trying a journaling bible as a way to bring new perspective and a bit of joy to a study process that has become a little dry of late. You inspire me to give it a try.

  107. Congratulations on three wonderful years of an inspirational and creative blog. I can’t get enough!

Wonderful give-aways, too! Thank you for your generosity!

Always love the Dance Parties on Periscope on Monday nights!

  108. I’m just starting, only done two pages…using stamps, very excited to using other mediums..thank you for the inspiration.

  109. I would love to try out the journaling bible the most but all the fun supplies would make it so much more fun! I love what you have shown here on your blog. This really brings out the artist in me!

  110. I have always been a doodler and I can remember my mom getting mad at me for drawing in my Bible. I actually just saw one of these bibles in the store, and thought WOW!

Unfortunately I can not really afford a journaling bible right now, due to family circumstances… So if I was to be gifted with one of the bibles it would make my day!

    1. Wow, I love that you’ve been doodling and drawing in your Bible since you were a young girl. Me, too! I hope your day is made, Jamie, and that you get your doodling hands on a Journaling Bible of your own soon.

  111. Love your Bible and how you’ve personalized it. I’ve been searching for one of my own ever since reading your first post about your journey to journaling you relationship with God. Every place I’ve looked is sold out, but I am not going to give up. I’ll wait as long as it takes to start my own journey. Thank you for sharing your journal and your journey.

    1. I love that perseverance, Peg! Hang in there. And one of my friends who journals with me has yet to find an NIV Journaling Bible so she pours her heART onto the page of a sketchbook. Use whatever you have until that Bible arrives! And thanks for joining me on my journey. 😉

  112. It is refreshing to see Zechariah 4:10 and the blessed fruit of His favor! Enjoy and press on, precious handmaiden of the L-rd.

  113. I’m so SUPER excited for the giveaway!! Happy Blogiversary! I’m most excited about the 1st prize Journaling Bible by Crossway with all the goodies! Honestly I think the goody I’m most excited for is the twistable crayons 🙂 I guess I’ll never grow up! I don’t think I’ve ever won a giveaway, but here’s to hoping!

  114. Thanks for this opportunity! I am certainly a hoarder of office supplies and a fellow Bible doodler! I would love to have this Bible. My sweet toddler was “reading” it on the way home from church and now it’s missing the back cover. :-/ Your blog is very inspiring. Thanks for all that you do!

  115. I’ve never actually done anything fun with the Bible (My journal is just my thoughts on the passages I’ve just read and what spoke to me most). Everything here just looks so fun and new!!!

  116. I am super excited about this giveaway! You are the reason I started bible journaling. I watched your tour through your bible and found it inspiring!! I am most excited to try the Gelato pens. I have seen what they can do and they look amazing!!

  117. Happy 3rd!!! So excited for you? I am curious about the crayola twistable crayons. I love to color with regular crayons and these could take it to a whole new level!!

  118. I have been pinning and studying this new format of worship, it looks amazing! I love all the encouragement for those of us less artistically inclined. Congrats on three years, I will pinot this post so I can refer back to this list for further encouragement. Thank you.

  119. Oh my best giveaway I have seen in forever! The gelatos have me so interested but love it all! I have never journaled but think I would love it.. Love the tab idea so you can easily find & be inspired again.

  120. Congratulations!
    A fun and informative blog.
Would love to try out the colored pencils for my adult coloring project

  121. I recently found your blog and I love the care you put into all your posts, including the pictures you take of all your projects. Thanks for all the ideas and inspiration, Lauren! And congratulations on your 3 year blogiversary!

  122. How wonderful that you are doing this give away! I have been reading you wonderful blog for a while but never left a comment. Thanks for putting the effort in! It always makes me smile.

  124. First and foremost, Happy 3 year blogiversary!! So exciting! Such a great and informative post!! I’m still new to Bible journaling, but I absolutely love it! I appreciate you sharing. I would LOVE to enter your giveaway, but for some reason my browser won’t load the rafflecopter. 🙁 Anyhoo, keep the posts coming!!

  125. I would love to win the supplies because I am new to bible journaling but I would really love to win one of the bibles to give to my daughter as well. Thanks for the chance to win!

  126. Happy Anniversary Lauren!!! I just love this give away and all of the creative ideas. I just love writing/ drawing scripture, I feel like it’s a way for me to imprint Gods word in my mind and heart. I have been using a journal along with my bible but am seriously excited by the idea of a “journaling” bible. So cool. Thanks for all of your amazing inspiration.

  127. I love using the metallic gelatos and acrylic paint too! You seam like such an artist but I haven’t been able to get out of my type A personality for this yet. ; )

  128. Congrats Lauren! My art supplies wishlist keeps growing, those gelatos… I’m excited about starting Bible journaling, might have to wait and see if I’m lucky enough to get one from you!

  129. I LOVE your website and your post about how to use a journaling Bible!! I personally can’t wait to learn how to make tabs!! What a great way to quickly look up the verses I love!

  130. Happy Anniversary! You are VERY inspirational 😉 I think of your favorite products, I would like the TAB punch….what a great idea to make fun & colorful tabs to mark my Bible so I can easily get to the book I want to study. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas. I wish you many many more anniversaries!!

  131. Lauren, I love all your posts about the art journaling bible! I would love to be one of your winners so that I can share in the experience and test out this method of becoming closer to scripture! I have never worked with the gelatos before and have only heard great things about them. The date stamp has been on my wish list for a little while. Haha Thank you for continuing to inspire me with your own stories, ideas and little details!

    -Michelle

  132. What a wonderful and generous giveaway! Congratulations on your 3 year anniversary! I love the new covers for the ESV Journaling Bibles!

  133. I love your journaling! It has reminded me that God’s word isn’t only powerful but beautiful as well. I would love to give a try with the journaling Bible and while all the crafting supplies are AWESOME I would be most excited about the Gelatos!

  134. Happy 3rd Blogiversary! Amazing 3 years, Lauren! You have inspired me in many ways! Thank you so much!

My ESV bible is almost full… So I could use a new one *wink wink* 😉 I would love to try the Faber Castell Gelatos and acrylic paint, too.

  135. I would love to win this awesome giveaway. It would be such a God send if I did. I have been wanting to do bible journaling for a long time now but I haven’t been able to afford all the things that you need to do a great job to honor our lord. Congrats on your three year anniversary. Good job may God watch over you and your blog for many years to come so that you can honor him.

  136. I have really enjoyed your blog since beginning my own journey in Bible Journaling. I have been a christian for 50 years and a Precept Bible Study Leader for 20+ years. I discovered Bible Journaling in January of this year and have already filled my Bible Journal with lots and lots. I have not yet tried the twistables, so would be excited to see how they look in my Bible. Thanks for this great opportunity and for sharing your gift.

  137. I’ve never written in my Bible with anything but a blue or black pen–so all the supplies you showed look like candy! I’d love to journal in a Bible.

  138. I hope I win this journaling Buble and study set!! My hubs has his own journaling Bible, but I love that this one is red!!

  139. I love the idea of a journaling Bible! All of the art supplies look awesome! We love using the Crayola penxila and crayons that roll up since there’s no paper to remove and no sharpening needed!

  140. I would like to try the micron pen set first. What an amazing prize package. Congrats on your anniversary! Thanks for the chance to win!!

  141. Congratulations on 3 years, Lauren! I am working on creating a space for creating in my apartment, inspired in large part by your blog and many of the ig accounts/blogs I have discovered through your links. Your Bible pages are lovely. Looking forward to seeing more.

  142. This is something that has absolutely touched my very soul. I have been wanting to jump back into art just to feed that portion of my soul lacking that. Combining with my faith…..a new world just opened up to me.

  143. These products are amazing. I knew of some but I learned alot today. I love these products and would be amazing to try for sure. I have a collection but I see my collection getting bigger. : )

  144. Congrats on 3 years!! You’re doing a fine job! I’m inspired but I’m not sure I’m as creative as you show on your blog but I’m willing to try, especially if I’m a winner. These supplies are very nice ones and I like the Bible, too! Thanks for this generous giveaway to your readers.

  145. I love Washi Tape! All of your pages turned out super awesome!! I love the quick tabs for what your heart needs to read at that moment!! 🙂

  146. I’ve never used Gelatos. I love the colors, and variety of effects I’ve seen in examples. Bible journaling just appeals to me in so many different ways. It’s awesome to see more people becoming aware of it.

  147. I want to try everything you’ve shown here! My adult daughter and I started Bible Journaling about the first of the year, and even though we’ve been close in heart (but far apart, me in WA and her in MN) sharing our Bible journaling has brought us even closer! Its so much fun to inspire each other with The Word a couple of times a week.

  148. I’ve had my eye on these Bibles for-EVER! I need to put one on my Amazon wish list (hello, Christmas!), if I’m not a lucky winner! Also, love love love your blog. Your week email is always a bright spot in the inbox!

  149. I just LOVE looking at your pages, Lauren! They’re beautiful! And I also love that I saw a few supplies in the post that I need to add to my ever-growing collection. 😉 Thanks for the shout out! Hugs!!!

  150. Ha! Those enamel dots look like that dot candy that used to come on a sheet of paper! Congratulations on 3 years 🙂 Very generous giveaway, thanks!

  151. Following your link right after this to the Faber-Castel pastel Gelatos, look so interesting, love the colors! Your Bible is beautiful, thanks for sharing.

  158. Congrats on 3 years, my friend!! I am very similar to you in that I have way too many craft supplies, but can’t help myself from picking up just a few more at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. It’s a sickness, I tell you. 🙂 Anyway, thanks so much for providing such a wonderful giveaway — the winners are going to be SO thrilled!!

  159. So pretty! I love washi tape and crafting already so I know this would be another awesome hobby to add to my collection! 🙂

  160. Congratulations on your 3 year anniversary!

That tab punch looks intriguing. I’m completely new to the world of art/bible journaling and scrapbooking and am amazed by the variety of supplies available.

  161. I am new to bible journaling and was hoping to get a journal bible for Christmas. I have many different mediums I have been using to do scripture art in my journal. Would love to try gelatos! Really hope I win this would be a huge blessing!!

  162. Thank you so much for going through all your fun supplies, etc.! I’m just starting on this journey and your post helped tremendously! Thank you for the opportunity to win some supplies and a Bible!!!

  163. What a neat idea. I can’t wait to order one. And, what a list. I just bought a set of gelatos the other day (thanks to Wilna Furstenberg’s blog!) and can’t wait to try them out. I have added several of these items to my “craft needs” list! Thanks!

  164. Love your blog and journaled pages!! Congratulations on your three year blog anniversary!! Looking forward to many more!

  165. I’m just getting started with Bible journaling. I love to see the supplies that people are using since I’ve only been staring at my blank pages so far. I’m a bit of a supply hoarder too and looking forward to pulling out some supplies that I haven’t seen in a while!

    1. The blank page can be intimidating, can’t it? And sometimes, my tendency is to just buy more supplies rather than get started. Hope you can dig in to some of the goodies you have and pour your heART in the margins of your Journaling Bible. I know it will be so fruitful!

  166. Congratulations on your blogiversary! What a wonderful giveaway for your subscribers. I found your blog while looking at various illustrated faith blogs. I hope to someday have a collection as great as yours. For now, I make due with a regular Bible and the supplies I have on hand. I’m a big fan of washi tape, too. I love the tab punch, I think that’d be great to have 🙂

    1. That’s the way to go, Taylor. Though it’s fun to dream and scheme about the latest and greatest craft supplies to try, there’s so much we can do with what we already have. Love your attitude!

  167. Happy Anniversary! I love your beautiful red Bible and all your wonderful bible art. I’m new to bible journaling, so everything you showed makes my heart skip a beat, but I think my most favorite is the Faber Casteel metallic gelatos.

  168. I love your Top 20 list! I have many of those supplies, too. I haven’t used any mists in my Bible yet, though I have several, and I haven’t used acrylic paints yet. Something I’d love: A date stamp.

  169. I’m anxious to find out more about the PITT pens from Faber Castell. They look awesome–so vibrant! Thanks for this amazing giveaway! Your blog is an inspiration!

  170. Reading through the post, getting really excited about the giveaway.. then I get to the end… only for US and Canadians! 🙁

Next time. 🙂 Thanks for hosting it though, and congrats in advance to the winners! You’re awesome!

(Found your blog through the journalling Bible fb.) New reader. 🙂

    1. I’m so sorry, Bonnie! Though major props to you for the generosity of spirit with your advance congrats. Appreciate you taking the time to swing by from the Facebook community. Everyone is so wonderfully supportive!

  171. Hi Lauren! I am kind of new to bible journaling, and I have been searching many ideas! Besides the wonderful pages, this type of posts about supplies are very helpful!! Thank you for sharing! Since I am still new, I don’t have many supplies, but my favorite tool is definitely mechanical pencil and color pencils. I want to try gelatos too. Also Tab punch seems very neat! Again thank you for sharing!

    1. Welcome to the movement, Maki! I’m delighted to know that you found this post helpful. I remember when I was first starting off, I soaked up any and everything I could on resources and supplies to use…so I’m glad to be able to pay it forward! And I’m glad the pencil shout-out wasn’t lost on you. It is a MUST for sure. And I find working with colored pencils so very soothing. Hope you can try your hand at gelatos and the tab punch very soon.

  172. Woah, girl. This is amazing– a bible journaler’s dream. I’ve never tried gelatos, so super pumped about those AND I’ve actually never put stickers in my Bible, so you would be expanding my horizons with all the stickers included!

    1. Yay! Loved reading your response, Krista! And I love that this prize pack would push you to experiment with so many new mediums. Pretty soon, you’ll be hooked on gelatos and stickers like me, lol. Thanks for entering!

  173. I am just getting into the world of Bible art journaling, and would love to try out the Mr. Huey’s sprays. They look awesome.

      1. Hello Lauren! I came across your blog about a month ago from Pinterest, and ever since, I have been very interested in the journaling bible. Your posts and photos have inspired me to creatively express my faith in Jesus and I hope to own a journaling bible very soon! Thank you for all you do and your encouraging self! God bless! 🙂

        1. Aw, thank YOU, Emily, for taking the time to leave this kind comment. It brings a smile to my face to know you’ve found sparks of inspiration here to creatively express your faith in Jesus…and I am excited FOR you to get your hands on a Journaling Bible. Oh the places you’ll go with God!

  174. Great blog post! I’ve just started looking into a journaling Bible and you have given me a great list and ideas to get started. Thanks!

  175. I too am a hoarder! Pens of all kinds, pencils and notebooks are my weakness. Go for the colored microns, they’re great. Another of my favorites for lettering is the Papermate Flair medium tip. They flow smooth & don’t bleed through most papers. I am so hoping to win the giveaway, it’s awesome!

    1. Phew! Well, at least I’m not alone. 😉 And clearly I was so ready to be pushed over the edge on the colored microns because I think I might have to order them tonight! And thanks for the tip on the Papermate Flair pen…always eager to try fun, new supplies…especially ones like these that get rave reviews from my fellow journalers! Thanks for stopping by and for the awesome comment!

    1. Thanks so much, Shannon! And welcome to my small corner of the blog-o-sphere. So very glad you stopped by and that you enjoyed your visit. The closet door stays open 24/7 so come back anytime!

    1. Wow! I just found your blog today and it’s so lovely and happy and creative! I just bought an E.S.V. and am battling with the ‘blank’ page phenomena! Keep up the wonderful work!
