8 Vinyl Projects & Silhouette Giveaway!
I hope everyone who celebrated Christmas yesterday had a joyous day!
We spent the day up in Ocala with Mark’s family. It was chock full of hugs…
…unexpected gifts…
…childlike wonder…
…and thanks to my MIL, lots of good eatin’.
We even had a Secret Santa gift exchange among the adults in our family. In fact, I’ll share a sneak peek at my Secret Santa gift for my SIL Ashlee shortly.
But first…I am giddy with glee to announce that I have a giveaway especially for you those of you who want to spread out the Christmas celebrating just a little longer. Yup, I have the incredible opportunity to gift one of you lovelies with my all-time favorite crafting tool: a Silhouette Portrait machine, valued at $180. That certainly would make this a Christmas to remember, wouldn’t it?
Simply enter the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post between now and this Sunday, December 29th, 11:59 p.m. eastern, and check back here on Monday when I announce the winner! It’s gotta be your turn sooner or later, right?

The Mother Lode of Silhouette Tutorials
I’ve officially now had my Silhouette for a year and a day…and in the past 366 days, I’ve created over 40 creations with my Cameo. Recently, I rounded up all those projects in one hyper-organized location as a reference point for anyone looking for tutorials geared toward beginners. I was a beginner myself this past year, so I always did my best to make sure my instructions were clear and thorough with plenty of pictures. So, if you’re curious, be sure to check out and pin The Mother Lode of Silhouette Tutorials!
8 Inspirational Vinyl Projects
Now, let’s zero in on vinyl for a sec….
Vinyl is one of my favorite mediums to work with; you can use it in such diverse ways with a wide variety of materials. Whenever anyone who has newly purchased a machine asks me what I recommend they try first, after plain ole cardstock, it’s vinyl. It just instantaneously transforms a craft from amateur hour into something professional-looking.
Here’s a round-up of 8 of the vinyl projects I have conquered with my Silhouette Cameo this past year. Each one links to the full tutorial for more details!
And my latest creation: an insulated mug I personalized especially for my SIL Ashlee!
I’ll be sharing the full tutorial for this one on Monday, so stay tuned. Plus, I’ll be announcing the giveaway winner then. Which reminds me…let’s get to that awesome Silhouette Portrait Giveaway, shall we?

Thanks again for the feature! I’m oh so honored!
This is a GREAT round up of projects, Lauren. I’m still such a beginner with my silhouette and LOVE all this inspiration. Pinning!
Great post Lauren.
Very glad I found your site. Looking forward to trying some of the tutorials.
And I’m very glad you commented because now I get to explore YOUR site…and I’m especially excited about all your resources for writers! Writing is a passion of mine and a goal for 2014 is to write my first eBook. So I’ll be diving into your blog a bunch in the new year, that’s for sure!
Here is hoping that my luck will change this year! I want one of these so bad!
Hoping your name pops up soon, Kayla! {insert cliche Hunger Games reference here} lol. 😉
Would be a great way to start off the new year. So many great projects!!!
Thanks, Jill! Hope you get to play with a Silhouette machine in 2014!
Pinned the dad toothpick DIY! BTW I love your site design. Getting ready to transfer my site to .org, so I’m going to your .com to .org story now. I found you via Link It or Lump It.
Yay! Glad you’re a fan of that lil toothpick project. And thanks so much for the pin-love!
Also, I hope that my blog migration series is a help to you. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. The process wasn’t super easy, but I am so glad that I did it. And I know you will be, too! Best of luck, Jessica.
Santa Claus forgot to bring me a Silhouette! Thanks for the chance to win one.
xx,
Sherry
Silly, Santa! Maybe he’s just a little late? Though I’m sad to say your name didn’t pop up this time, I’m hopeful I will have other Silhouettes giveaways here in the future and that your name will take the cake soon! Best of luck.
One day my Silhouette will come…one day my Silhouette will come…and I’ll make projects just like Lauren. (hummed to the tune of “Someday my Prince will Come”)
Even crossing the fingers on my broken wrist side!!
Thanks for another chance to win Lauren!
xoxo
You poor dear, crossing fingers with a broken wrist! Now I’m feeling extra guilty that the Rafflecopter widget didn’t present your name…you even sang for it! (What’s a girl gotta do to win a Silhouette these days?) Guess we’ll just have to plan a crafty get-together so you can play with mine till that someday when your Prince…er…I mean, your Silhouette DOES come. {Smile.}
Whoop-de-doooo!!! One more chance to win a Silhouette in 2013!!! Good thing, since there was not one under my Christmas tree this year. Thank you Lauren!
Hope your Christmas was full of joy and wonder!
Thanks for the giveaway. There are so many great projects I would love to do with the Silhouette. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Now I need to go back through all of your Silhouette projects since I got one for Christmas!! Can’t wait to dive in!
I got my Portraite a few days ago and am having so much fun. I’ve told my daughter so much about it and showed her your projects, now she wants one too., LOL. So this will be for her, if I win!
Wish I had some of that ham. Oh and the plate is beautiful.
Are those your nieces and nephews? They are sooooo cute! I got to meet my great identical twin nephews Tuesday. They are beautiful!
Awesome giveaway!! Thanks so much.
Thank you for all the inspirations of using Silhouette! You rock!
Thanks for hosting the give-away, I have always wanted one so we will see. Have a great day.
Wonderful projects using vinyl, can’t wait to try it. Thank you for the chance.
Thanks so much for the chance to win!!
My Gosh does that ham ever look so delicious! My mouth is watering.
Oh and the sunshine and greenery I see in your pictures (seeing green with envy). We are sitting here in Ohio with a temp of 23 and wind chill of 4. We had about 6″ of snow then it melted and then sprinkled a little for Santa. Since it did snow a little, I can officially say I am ready for Spring.
Thanks for the warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family Lauren!
Hugs, Karen
Maybe my luck will change?
Happy New Year!
Since I did not get one for Christmas, I’m trying again hopefully I will win one of these soon. So I can start creating to earning some extra money. Happy Holidays Maria.
