The Friday Five: Cute Kids in Costume

Earlier this week I shared my traumatizing trick-or-treating story.  Well, apparently, I’m not the only one with tales of Halloween terror to tell.

Clearly, we now know Batman’s kryptonite: small, speedy canines.

And I don’t blame this little girl for turning and walking away; I have the same reaction whenever I see S.O.U.S. (spiders of unusual size).

For others, the horror is more on the “treat” end.  When you get handed a healthy treat like raisins.  Or a granola bar.  Or, God forbid, an apple.

Halloween terrors aside, you know I love a creative costume.  Put that creative costume on a cute little kid, and my heart melts.

Well folks, prepare for a melt-fest because today, I have 5 of the cutest kid costumes EVER to grace planet earth (yes, I’m prepared to stand behind that bold claim…they’re that cute).  I mean, all of these costumes would be pretty cool on adults, but put them on kids, and they suddenly become epic.  Enjoy!

And just to get you excited for next week’s Friday Five, it’s another Halloween costume post, but instead of 5 cute kids in costume, you’re going to meet 5 cute animals in costume.  That’s right.  Fur-babies.  And we all know that more than anything, animals love to be dressed up in clothes and booties and especially hats.  Oh, yessiree, they looooove hats.  {wink.}  It’ll be a hoot!

Want more inspiration?

Okay, now, I’m sending you off to visit my partner-in-Friday-Five-crime, Thalita.  She’s waitin’ for you over at The Learner Observer with her Friday Five: A Few Good Words.  And be sure to catch up on her 31 Days series, which is all about keeping it real and getting to the heart of home.  I’m soakin’ that goodness up!

Oh, and one more thing…

Did you take advantage of the special Silhouette Promotion & Giveaway yet?  Because the holidays are coming up…and you’re going to want a right-hand-gal to help you make all those hand-made gifts you’ve been pinning.  And her name is Cammie.  And her sister is Portia.  And they will blow your mind with their cutting talent!

That is all.  Have the happiest of weekends, friends.

  1. These are so precious, and heart-warming at ANY time of year. I think the sun-maid raisin box is tops. I also couldn’t help but burst out in a guffaw when I saw the baby aerobics instructor…perhaps it’s the Zumba instructor in me…she’s just so little and rockin’ that costume! Thanks for the smiles.

    1. Ha ha, it makes me guffaw to imagine you guffawing! (I suppose it’s our contagious-laughter-in-the-front-pew-of-church history.) Thanks for the comment love of this post! It’s fun for me to revisit some of these oldies, too.

  2. Those costumes were so cute. Here’s another one (sorry, no photo). This year since Halloween was just five days before our local mayoral elections, one mom carried her baby boy in a miniature suit and hat (fedora) with a sign on the hat, saying VOTE for me for MAYOR! Really relevant, easy, and made us smile!! 🙂

    1. That’s because you have a heart of gold! A very meltable heart of gold! (One of the many things I appreciate about you, Marilyn.)

    1. Ha ha. Glad you enjoyed the cuteness, Bethany! We all need a cuteness overload every now and again. 😉 Our weekend was a whirlwind, but so much fun. You may or may not have seen my post on Wednesday, but we hosted a Costume Party this past weekend and it was a lot of pun! (Pun intended.) Sorry for the lame joke. It’s getting late. 😉 Hope you’re having a marvelous week, my friend.

    1. Isn’t she darling? I pinned that project last year, and I never forgot about it! I might even need to try that as an adult…though I doubt I’d be half as cute as she is. Hope your weekend was a great one, too, Rachel!

    1. Yay! I hope you enjoyed your visit to The Learner Observer. Thalita is such a creative cookie…like yourself! Hope your weekend was grand, Wendi!

  3. HaHa! The first one is hilarious. Hmmmm, I need to think of something clever for our critters. I will wait for your furbaby edition for inspiration.

    1. Now I had REALLY better make next week’s edition worthwhile. Especially now that I know your furbabies are counting on it! 😉

    1. Of course, Meredith! What a cutie he is! And I’m glad you got a kick out of that baby aerobics instructor, too. It makes me laugh!

  4. Oh my they are all so stinkin’ cute!! I love those gifs! That spider one is super creepy! I would of high tailed it out of there too!

    1. Ha ha. I know, right?! That poor girl! She’s just running up to the door so carefree; it makes the spider scare all the more traumatizing, no doubt!

  5. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! The baby in aerobics gear! I died! OH em gee!

You were not kidding when you said these were the cutest… You really DID find them.

Oh, also, I was laughing out loud at my desk at work (I know, right?) at those gifs!!!!!

    1. Ha ha. She’s pretty awesome, isn’t she?! I think it’s the shot from above that really makes it. And I’m glad to know you agree with my “Cutest” claim. I was kind of going out on a limb there with that one, but these costumed kids had me convinced. They’re they absolute cutest. Done and dusted!

And I always delight to give you a chuckle with my gifs, Thalita. That little Batman boy’s sprint gets me every time!

    1. Of course! She is so darling in that costume, Melanie…you did a great job! (On the kid AND the costume…lol.)

  6. I must admit…those are pretty darn cute! My absolute favorite kid costume though is the child in the wheelchair who’s amazing parents built an ice cream truck around his chair and dressed him up like the guy who sells the ice cream. 🙂
    Kenley

    1. Aw! I love that idea! I saw a similar one recently where a girl dressed as Cinderella and her wheelchair was the pumpkin carriage. So creative and heart-warming!

  7. ha!ha! I love these costumes very much! my favorite is the 1st one sun maid raisins 😉
btw, I dress up my pups for Halloween every year too, so I can’t wait to see your top 5 next week; might have to steal some ideas 🙂 hi!hi!
wish you a beautiful weekend Lauren

    1. Oooo! That makes me really excited to know that you dress up your furry friends each year, Ingrid. Maybe I need your help to come up with my Friday Five! I have a few already, but if you know of any ideas I MUST include, send them my way! K? K. Hope your weekend was loverly, my friend.

    1. I take it you’re an Office fan, too, then? (The best ones are. Lol.) And you are so welcome about the comment love; you and your YouTube self inspire me!

    1. There are so many cute costumed kids out there, it was hard to keep it at 5, but I’m really feeling good about the 5 I chose. I’m so glad you agree, Glenna!

    1. Oh my gosh, I love that prank…especially the kids that are forgiving (it warms my heart to no end). I actually ALMOST included the video in my post, but it wasn’t quite fitting in with the flow. Glad to know we were on the same wavelength!
